Ipsy Glam Bag July 2013

*Referral link is included in post.

I am very pleased with all of the products I've received this month! Here is my unbagging for you to see what I received this month as well as my first impressions!

The theme for this month's Glam Bag is Beach Beauty. I feel that the products selected for this month fits quite well with the fun beach theme.

BH Cosmetics | California Collection Eyeshadow Trio Palette

Left to Right: Hollywood, San Francisco, Malibu

There's a love hate relationship between  BH Cosmetics eyeshadows and me. I have an 88 Neutral Palette by BH Cosmetics, and so I knew what to expect already with this trio palette we received in our Glam Bags. The eyeshadows are not pigmented... at all. To me, I seriously have to keep packing on the shadow in order to achieve any color on my eyelids (and this is with me using a primer and the color still doesn't show up well). I WANT to love BH Cosmetics eyeshadows (because I see how many lovely girls out there who loves BH Cosmetics) but I'm just not impressed with the quality. The packaging for this palette is cute! It's a little travel sized palette that can be thrown in your purse for when you are on the go.

COOLA | Mineral Face SPF 20 Rose Essence Tinted Moisturizer

For some reason at first, when I peeked on the Ipsy website to see what I was going to get in my Glam Bag, I thought this was going to be a rose scented moisturizer. Immediately my reaction was "Ew! No! I hate scented face moisturizers!" Which I really do because it's just more additives in the ingredients of a product to make it smell nice and that was something I do not like to put on my face. So the whole time that I've waited to get my Glam Bag, I was already set to be disappointed when I received the product. Oh man was I take that back of my personal statement of how I hate scented facial moisturizers. Well, maybe this product is the exception (because aren't there exceptions to every rule? Kinda? Lol) So this month, we received a .23 fl oz. tube of this moisturizer. I've swatched it, and it is very sheer. This applies smoothly and feels velvety on my skin. The scent is not strong at all. It is a very light and pleasant scent. I appreciate the fact that this has SPF in it (now that I'm getting older, sunscreen is a definite must!)

Sexy Hair | Soy Renewal Beach Spray

The highlight of this product is the Argan oil. Argan oil comes from the Argan tree in Morocco. It contains many great benefits for hair AND skin (but that's for another post my lovelies). The packaging of this spray is super cute! I love the spray handle. I would consider the size of this thing (1.7 fl oz) a deluxe sample size, great to throw in my purse for on the go. To me, the scent is a pleasant beachy smell. I think this will definitely help me be in a great summer mood when I spray this into my hair.

Nailtini Color Lacquer in 'Mai Tai'

I am a nail polish junkie so I was happy to receive this polish in my bag this month! It's a very vibrant orange... The whole packaging of black an orange instantly reminds me of Halloween. I'm not going to save this polish for Halloween though. I have this polish lined up to wear after the SinfulShine with Gel Tech in "Your's Truly." Expect a post on this later on!

POP Beauty | Pouty Pop Crayon in Fuchsia Flirt

I was very pleased to have receive this lip crayon in Fuchsia Flirt! Another pink lippy to add to my collection. The packaging however does feel cheap? It's all plastic-y if you know what I mean. But let's not let the packaging get in the way of the quality of the actual product itself. When I first applied this lip crayon, I forgot to exfoliate my lips and so my lips appeared super duper chapped! Once I resolved that, this lip crayon applied on very smoothly. I pretty applied this in a coloring motion onto my lips and then blended it out at the outline of my lips. No brush needed to blend, I used my pointer finger to blend. It's very pigmented and so I didn't need to keep applying once I covered my entire lips. This lip crayon has a matte finish which I like very much. The consistency is very good. I haven't worn it for a full day but will update you on this once I have. I believe this isn't sold in single crayons. They are sold as a set by Ulta for $25 for a set of 6 various shades.

What did you get for your Glam Bag this month?
