Review: Madison Street Beauty | Mineral Eye Shadows*

Madison Street Beauty is an indie cosmetic company operated by Bridget and Rhys in Las Vegas.

"Madison Street Beauty was founded to provide environmentally friendly products with all natural and vegan cosmetics. Founded in 2011 from humble beginnings, we have quickly become an indie beauty favorite online. Our goal is to make finding natural products as easy and as affordable as possible while providing the highest standards of customer service. Our dedication to conservation extends throughout our business so you won’t find needless and wastefully extravagant packaging or damaging, chemically filled products being marketed aggressively in an inefficient and ecologically harmful way. We want to put a stop to that and show people that you don’t have to pay the earth to get the highest quality products that don’t hurt you or the environment."

Packaging:

The loose shadows comes in a small round plastic container with a sifter inside. You get 1 oz./0.035 oz. in one jar. To avoid making a big mess since we are working with loose product, I would gently shake/pour the product into the cap of the container and grab the product from the cap with my brush. If you have anything left over from the cap, simply pour it back into the jar or on top of the sifter.

I find the packaging sturdy and compact enough to take with me in a small makeup pouch if I wish.

Texture & Consistency:

Listed TL-TR & BL - BR:
  • Carribean Bay (shimmer)
  • Begonia (shimmer)
  • Prima Ballerina (matte)
  • Chestnut (shimmer)
  • Mossy Mauve (shimmer)
  • Black Goji Berry (shimmer)
All of these loose shadows are easy to work with. They are highly pigmented and blends beautifully. The one shade that I found to be more gritty and not as pigmented than the other shadows is Mossy Mauve. Let's move on to the swatches below!

Application:

Swatches are listed in the order above. In the container Prima Ballerina looks like a light petal pink. I was surprised to see how it swatched more as a pinky nude on my skin tone but I don't mind, I actually really love it! These were all swatched with just one swipe of the product!

Now I'm going to warn you, there are a bit of fall out but it's expected considering these are loose shadows. So I would advise you to have your fan brush ready for clean and to help lessen the pain of cleanup, try doing your eye makeup before you put on your other makeup.

Personally for me, I used to do my face makeup first and then my eyes and lips but now I've come to learn and train myself to always do my eye makeup first which is the most messiest and it is also easier to clean up without interfering with your face makeup, etc.

Is it worth it?

YES!!! I am very pleased with all of the shadows that I received. The quality is awesome and the customer service is excellent!

The Mineral Eye Shadows retails for $4.99 a jar but currently they are having a 60% sale on their site! So you can snatch these pretty babies up for $2.00 each!!!! There's a huge variety of colors on their website, and just to warn you, you may a hard time picking only a few because of all the beautiful colors!

Who isn't looking for quality AND affordability? For the best of both worlds, Madison Street Beauty won my heart! Definitely check them out if you are on a search for affordable mineral makeup.
