Review: Makeup by ONE DIRECTION*

*Powered by BrandBacker

If you're looking for the perfect gift to give to your tween or teen, I have a beauty review on something that I think will make a great gift!
Markwins Beauty kindly sent me one out of the three makeup kits exclusively by ONE DIRECTION! The three kits are:
  • "Take Me Home"
  • "Midnight Memories"
  • "Up All Night"
Each kit includes:
  • Chubby Eye & Body Crayon
  • Eye Shadow Palette
  • "Little Black Dress" Volumizing Mascara
  • Lipgloss
  • Lipstick
  • Nail Polish
  • BONUS! ONE DIRECTION doodle stencils
Today I will be sharing with you my thoughts on the "Up All Night" makeup kit:

As I was studying the labels and shade names on each of the products, I thought "How unique! But why these names???" For the 1D fans, obviously, you know that I'm NOT a fan because I had to do a bit more research and found that the shade names are based off of 1D's song titles, lol.

I found the reusable tin to be very cute and versatile! You can use it to store anything you want in there. For the tweens, you can even deck it out however you want on the outside of the tin, (use those stencils included in the kit!).

"Stand Up" Chubby Eye & Body Crayon

It is a dark denim blue color. This crayon glides on very smoothly but be careful, it smudges a lot (not ideal to wear to school!). I've also noticed some possible staining, so just be careful. It would be ideal to save it for the weekend to use.

Eye Shadow Palette

This cute little palette contains four shadows and one glitter creme shadow, the swatches for the four shadows is at the end of the post (I swatched everything on one hand all at the same time lol).

The shadows are soft and some what a bit powdery when I swatched them. They're not as pigmented as I hoped them to be based off its claims on the packaging. The one shadow that had good pigmentation is the sky blue shade, "Save You Tonight."

The glitter creme shadow is "Up All Night." It blends out very sheer, so don't be afraid to use more if you want a bold look. I went ahead and snapped a picture of this (below) to show the glitter more.

"Little Black Dress" Mascara

The mascara is a black volumizing mascara. I have not opened this because I currently have four other tubes I'm using. Will update this once I do use it!

"Taken" Lipgloss

Looking at this lip gloss, it is very pretty! However, once I swatched and tried it on, my opinion changed. This gloss has glitter in it and is very noticeable when applied. Beware of having some glittery lips if you apply too much of this on! I'm not a huge fan of how sticky it is on my lips.

"I Should Have Kissed You" Lipstick

This is such a pretty lipstick. It is a bubblegum pink shade and wears beautifully with a matte finish. The one thing I noticed was how it drags on the lips so be careful when applying and don't force the lipstick or else it could easily break off!

"Na Na Na" Nail Polish

The nail polish is a metallic aqua-blue color (in the picture it looks more blue, but in person it's more blue-green (think of a Mermaid's tail). This is a lovely color to wear during the spring/summer!
