This really isn't a monthly favorites post because I've been reaching for these products over time since September and now I can't get enough of these beautiful products!
Dr. Brandt | Pore No More - Pore Refiner Primer
Pores No More claims to minimize pores, absorb oil, and mattifies your skin.
I received a sample of this primer many months ago when I had a beauty subscription and was hooked after the first time I used it! I remember my first impression after applying the primer to my face, "Hmmm... I don't see a difference... my pores are still visible and huge!"
But AFTER I applied my foundation, I noticed how effective this primer is! My pores (most visible in my t-zone) vanished! Seriously, my jaws dropped and I was in awe. I tend to be most oily in my t-zone but with the help of this primer, no oily-ness anywhere on my face!
I remember reading reviews and noted that some people mentioned how they don't like the scent of this primer, but I don't mind it at all. It reminds me of a medicine treatment I used to use for my acne. If product scent is a big factor in your decision making, I advise you to check the tester in stores first before buying.
I do believe that this primer is true to its claims. Once I ran out of my sample size primer, I forked over my moolah to Sephora with no hesitation for the full size one. This is the one primer I reach for almost all the time now!
Make Up For Ever | HD Foundation in "123 Desert"
For the longest time I've avoided buying foundation and concealers from higher end brands simply because I didn't want to splurge on products that I know will go through quicker than others.
Now I want to kick myself for all those past years of not having invested in this foundation! I purchased the MUFE HD Foundation when I attended The Makeup Show Dallas back in September.
I now understand what all the fuss is about with this foundation! It gives medium coverage and feels like I'm not wearing anything! This foundation paired with my Pores No More primer is amazing and photographs beautifully.
Since it's winter time, I can go down to shade 120 and save 123 for spring/summer when I get some sun on me but I've made 123 work with me this winter =)
I use my BeautyBlender to blend out my foundation and it blends like a dream!
I'll definitely be re-purchasing this foundation and going to take advantage of stocking up on a few bottles when there are discounts!
NARS | Radiant Creamy Concealer in "Custard"
I purchased this concealer on impulse when I was at The Makeup Show Dallas. I keep hearing so many good things about it and figured why not give it a go since I got it for a really good price.
I have a love/hate relationship with concealers. It's either the texture/consistency or how the way it cakes up instantly once it gets on my face... I've just had my share of bad days with concealers... Until now!
Now I still have to work fast after I apply this concealer and immediately have my Ben Nye Banana Powder in my hand to set the product, but once set, it's flawless! On days when I don't go full cake face, I appreciate how this concealer helps my eyes look brighter and more awake (then what I really am feeling lol).
NARS | Contour Blush in "Paloma"
I love love love this contour powder! I've pushed aside my ABH Contour Kit for this duo. There's no orange-y-ness and no muddy brown streaks with this shade. I love pairing this powder with my Real Techniques Contour Brush.
YSL | Blush Radiance in "09 Poppy Coral"
I'm beyond obsessed with this blush because I feel that it goes well with all of my looks! The blush is opaque and is buildable to your desired liking. A few sweeps of this with my MustaeV Blush Brush and I have a healthy flush to my face :)
One thing I want to mention, I really LOVE the scent of this beautiful blush! Every time I use this blush, I'm always thinking "Mmmmm... I love the delicate scent of this thing!" It has a light pretty scent to it. Sorry I'm not great at giving acurate scent descriptions. Just know that it's a pretty scent, does not irritate the skin, and the scent doesn't last long after you apply it.
Urban Decay | Naked Illuminated in "Aura"
The Naked Illuminated powder is the newest addition to my makeup stash but it quickly moved up to being a favorite highlighting product! I switch back and forth between this one and "Albatross" frequently.
NARS | Blush in "Albatross"
"Albatross" is a gorgeous highlighter! It has teeny gold flecks when you look in the pan but when applied, there's no flecks of sparkles nor lines of gold on your face. After blending the powder out with a fluffy brush, I have a nice glow to my face.
I feel that highlighting gives a dimensional lift to my matted face. The effects of highlighting and contouring is amazing which is why I love these techniques so much!
|L-R: Paloma, Poppy Coral, Aura, and Albatross|
NARS | Matte Multiple in "Laos"
When I'm in a hurry, I love that I can throw this in my purse and use it as a blush and a lippie! It's a beautiful rosey pink, the product is creamy but dries to a beautiful matte finish.
The color wears off on my lips over a few hours, but leaves a pretty pink stain to my lips.
Maybelline | Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lipstick in "Daringly Nude" + Jordana | Easyliner for Lips in "Tawny"
I feel that this is the perfect neutral lip combo for my skin tone. Some neutral lip colors can make me look washed out or they can be too pink/peachy or too dark but I feel this suits me very well.
Chloe | See by Chloe Perfume Rollerball
Okay, so this isn't a makeup product but none the less, I had to share this with y'all because it's the perfume that I've been reaching for ever since I got it! I've pushed aside my Dolce&Gabbana "The One" (which I've worn for 5 years+) aside for this and plan to purchase the full size soon.
I actually love all of the Chloe perfumes but I love to wear this one the most.
