After my first post sharing my story of what's been going on with my skin, here's a follow up on what's been going on since and what I've been doing. I'll be continuing to share skin updates with y'all until my face clears completely.
Just a refresher, here's what my skin looked like from my original post (feel free to click on the images to enlarge, I made them small on purpose so they can be side by side):
Here's what my skin looks like now:
So the first week after my original post, I used my InstaNatural Lemon Essential Oil to spot treat the breakouts. What I liked about the Lemon Essential Oil was how it would zap the pimples overnight and within the next few days, my skin would scab and peel.
However, the one thing I didn't like too much was how strong the oil was. I'd dilute the oil with equal parts water but the burning sensation was still too much and my face felt hurt :(
Fortunately I was using the oil leading up to The Makeup Show Dallas and that was when I discovered something else to use and I've been using this product ever since I got it.
This Bioderma Sensibio H2O (available to the U.S. exclusively through Beautylish) has been doing wonders for my skin. I'll have my full review on Bioderma up next week, so stay tune!
My current skincare routine is: Clearasil, Bioderma (morning and night after cleansing my face), InstaNatural Retinol Moisturizer (thank you +jackie leung for recommending the use of a retinol product!).
When my skin started acting up, I stopped using all skincare products immediately and resorted to the bare basics which was just cleansing my face.
However, one of my best blogging friends suggested the use of a retinol product to see if it will help and so I brought back out my InstaNatural Retinol Moisturizer which I only apply at night since it's a bit heavy to wear during the day. I've noticed how this helps calm the breakouts and keeps my skin smooth.
I'll probably wait about another month to update you all and see how my skin progresses from there. Thanks so much for sticking by me and for all of the tips and advice some of you gave me in my previous post! I truly appreciate it! xx
