#PowerOfMakeup Challenge

I first heard of the #PowerOfMakeup challenge from a PopSugar Beauty article I found on Facebook. I was intrigued of this 'challenge' because of the strong and positive message it sends out to people.

I thought of doing this but just never got around to doing so until I saw another similar article which pointed me directly to who actually created this challenge and that's when I stumbled across YouTube and found Nikkie from NikkieTutorials

Before I go into my personal babbling, can we stop to take a moment and just take in all of Nikkie's beauty? She's so freaking talented! *insert crying/in love/high five emojis here* I can sit and watch her channel all day long if I could lol.

After seeing Nikkie's video on The Power of MAKEUP, I was determined to remember to do this (and I actually was able to accomplish two different things, the Christie Brinkley review and THIS with one makeup look, yay for multi-tasking and accomplishing it!)

Feel free to click on the images above to make them bigger :)

To start off, I don't think that girls should be ashamed to say that they love wearing makeup. Personally for me, makeup is a serious confidence booster for when I'm going out into the world to take on the day. As a stay-at-home Mommy, it's also a great pick me upper for when I'm feeling scrubby about myself. Trust me, staying at home full time is not a glamorous lifestyle. You'll usually find me wearing a t-shirt, sweatpants, and NO makeup most of the time. (Husband has this weird look on his face when he does come home and find me dolled up for no special reason LOL!)

No matter what your reasons are for why you wear makeup and love it, DON'T WORRY ABOUT WHAT OTHERS HAVE TO SAY. Follow your heart and do what makes you happy my dears.

At the end of the day, makeup comes off. It's suppose to be fun. Like what Cyndi Lauper sang - *Girls just wanna have fun, girls just wanna have funnnnnn*

Have you tried the #PowerOfMakeup challenge? If you search the tag on Insta, there's an amazing amount of photos from girls who gave it a go and it made me so happy to see such beautiful (without and with makeup) on there spreading the positive vibes!

I encourage you to give it a try and talk about it! Beauty and makeup junkies unite! <3

  1. I love this post! I've always had people tell me straight to my face that they hate girls who wear tons of makeup (when I clearly have a full face on). I love playing with makeup and experimenting with it so I can never understand why people don't see that.

  3. Hi Valerie! Thank you so much for visiting and commenting! I've dealt with similar situations as well and just laugh it off and tell them "To each and their own." Some people aren't considerate of others' thoughts and feelings and so they may say things without thinking first. Ahh my dear, not everyone will understand us beauty/makeup fanatics. But that's okay, that's why we have each other and our beauty community to lean on for support, encouragement, and love <3 I appreciate you taking your time to visit! xo
