Drybar Pairs with City of Hope*

I remember how fascinated I was to learn that it is not ideal to wash your hair with shampoo everyday because it strips away the natural oils in your hair thus making it weak and brittle. I would have an oily scalp if I didn't shampoo my hair every day and so when I was in the process of training my hair, I discovered my love for dry shampoo which kept my hair at bay in between washes.

I've gone through many kinds of dry shampoos and powders for my hair and found most to be difficult to use with my natural black hair because of the dry shampoo product not wanting to blend in with my hair color (despite of massaging the product in - most of the product left my hair looking grey at the top). I also didn't like how most of the dry shampoos I've used left my hair weighing down instead of feeling light and refreshed as the product claims to do.

In comes Drybar.

Named one of the top “100 Brilliant Ideas of 2010” by Entrepreneur Magazine and New York Magazine’s Boom Brands of 2013, Drybar is based on the simple concept of focusing on one thing and being the best at it. The idea was a natural one for founder Alli Webb and came from a lifetime of frustration overpaying for blowouts at traditional salons.

The Detox Dry Shampoo not only absorbs oils and impurities but also provides body and fullness to your hair. It is very lightweight and leaves no white residue behind. The plus side to this product my fellow brunettes is that there is a brunette version of the Detox too (YES!).

The scent is fantastic and it is simple to apply. Spray the product at least 6 inches away from the top of your scalp, wait 30 seconds to a minute before you massage the product into your hair (to help lift and volumize), and go!

Limited Edition for a Great Cause

This October, Drybar has paired with City of Hope to create the Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo Pink Bottle. Drybar will donate $1 to City of Hope from each sale up to $25,000. With this purchase, customers are supporting breast cancer research, treatment and education.

Drybar's Detox Dry Shampoo is a must have for anyone who is looking for a product to help keep their hair at its best in between washes. You can find the limited edition travel size Detox at your nearest Drybar shop or at Sephora for $13.00 (U.S.D.).
