Maternity Style: Felt Hat & Grey Duster

There are some days where I can get cozy, wearing a long-sleeve or cable knit pull-over all day long and then there's been some days where we go back to wearing tanks and shorts. I seriously have had fall-fashion envy over others who live anywhere with cooler temps and can wear a cute sweater and scarves all day long!

To balance it all out, this grey sleeveless duster and my Jack + Lucy hat from the September PopSugar Must Have Box helps me be more in a Fall season mood.

Review: NARS Velvet Lip Glide

The NARS Velvet Lip Glides have been out since September now and I was eager to get my hands on a few earlier this month!

An innovative, long-lasting lip color with a smooth, semi-matte finish that provides ultimate hydration.

"Velvet lip glide is soft, yet strong. Effortless and intense. Polished and provocative. It encourages you not to compromise. Glide on strength. Go with it. See where it takes you."—Fran├žois Nars

What I bought:
  • Unlaced (nude pink)
    • Similar to Maybelline Daringly Nude
  • Bound (rose pink)
    • Similar to KVD Lovesick
  • La Main Bleue (rich berry)
    • Similar to KVD L.U.V.

The shades I purchased were very similar to other matte lip brands I already use and have however these are all a keeper in my makeup bag because the wear is so comfortable since the formula is very hydrating with a semi-matte finish on the lips.

PopSugar October 2016 Must Have Box*

reinvention - warm - cozy - snuggly - inspiration - happy

The October Must Have Box by PopSugar is my new favorite box! It's filled with goodies that definitely helps the atmosphere around here at home feel more like Fall despite of the warm temperature we've had lately.

PopSugar founder, Lisa Sugar published her own memoir, Power Your Happy - which was released to the public just last month and based off the buzzing press release I've seen on social media, it's a huge hit! I'm really looking forward to curling up on the couch and reading her memoir with my new Morning Culture Rise & Shine Diner Mug filled with My Cup of Cocoa Dark Chocolate in hand.

There are some days when I trust what my weather app is telling me and there are times when my weather doesn't tell me the truth about rainy days. The Henri Bendel Packable Umbrella is perfect to keep in my bag or car to keep me from second-guessing!

I'm a huge fan of the Makeup Eraser! It's this pretty pink magical towel that removes your makeup with just water! I have the full sized one and am glad to have a mini one to keep in my travel bag. The Revlon ColorStay Liquid Eye Pen has an intense formula that glides on smoothly and lasts up to 16 hours. It's a great drugstore makeup product if you're looking for something budget-friendly! Last but not least is the Lalicious Brown Sugar Vanilla Shower Oil & Bubble Bath - the brown sugar scent is a deliciously warm inviting scent which I find perfect for fall! Use it as a shower oil or bubble bath, either way you're going to come out of the tub with soft silky skin!

The PopSugar Must Have subscription box sends you full-sized surprises each month valuing over $100+ for just $39.95 (U.S.D.) a month! If you would like to sign up, use code SHOP5 (which never expires) to redeem $5 off your FIRST Must Have Box!

Prenatal Skincare with Mustela [Pregnancy Edition]*

Did you know that not only Mustela have products to take care of your baby but also Moms too? Mustela has provided trusting products to babies, children, and Mothers for over 60 years. With my firstborn, I used a few different Mustela baby products and have been a fan since!

In my first pregnancy, I was so worried about taking care of the precious package growing inside of me that I didn't think very much on taking care of my own personal needs as far as skincare was concerned. However, in my previous experience, everything was more easy-going compare to my pregnancy now.

Mustela kindly sent me a care package to remind me to take care of myself this time around!

The ingredients in the entire Mustela Maternity line are of natural origin and free of parabens (preserverative), phthalates (group of chemicals to make plastic), and phenoxyethanol (germicidal). The products are also hypoallergenic and tested under dermatological, gynecological, and pediatric control.

Once I found out that I was pregnant, I immediately took care of moisturizing my stomach to help prepare it for growing in the upcoming months. While the belly (and other areas of your body) is growing during pregnancy, some women may or may not get stretch marks. Stretch marks are a form of scarring on the skin when your belly expands.

I broke down the package into two parts - one part I'm going to cover now and the second part (postpartum) I'll share with you my thoughts on the products then.

Prenatal Care

Hello from the Bump! :)

To keep your skin hydrated and minimize the appearance of stretch marks, Mustela has two different types of products you can use.

Mustela Maternity Stretch Marks Prevention Cream ($46 / 8.45 fl. oz.)

The Stretch Marks Prevention Cream contains four key ingredients to help prevent the appearance of stretch marks:
  • Avocado Peptides: Promotes suppleness, eases tightness, and brings elasticity to the skin.
  • Arabinogalactan: Activates elastin fibers and promotes collagen to prevent the formation of stretch marks.
  • Beeswax and Shea Butter: Hydrates and nourishes the skin.

Mustela Maternity Stretch Marks Prevention Oil ($30 / 3.54 fl. oz.)

Avocado oil, pomegranate oil, musk rose oil, baobab, and lupeol are the key ingredients in making the Stretch Marks Prevention Oil. It has a light, delicate floral fragrance with notes of Rose, Bergamont, and Plum. I really like the spray nozzle which allows for an easy application!

Mustela Maternity Stretch Marks Recovery Serum ($42 / 2.53 fl. oz.)

I was going to save the Stretch Marks Recovery Serum for Postpartum Care but decided to take extra precaution and use it now too since I noticed some slight dark lines on the sides of my stomach. What I really love about this serum is the fine nozzle applicator to make sure 1) I'm not wasting product and 2) I am targeting the areas that I feel needs this serum most.

The Stretch Marks Recovery Serum contains avocado peptides (helps relieve sensations of tightness, reinforces skin elasticity), elastoregulator®  (helps to improve skin's elasticity), and micro-nutrients (help replenish the skin to visibly reduce the appearance of stretch marks).

I've been really enjoying both of the Prevention Cream and Oil and Recovery Serum! I'm a little over 7 months into my pregnancy now, the horrible itching I dealt with a month ago is gone - my growing tummy is well moisturized on a daily and the dark lines that looked like pre-stretch marks are very minimal.

We're a little over 2 months from Baby Girl's arrival and I look forward to sharing with you all my thoughts on the rest of the products come Postpartum!

Maternity Style: Fringed Detail

Sweater (similar here), GAP Maternity 1969 Skinny Denim, Fringed Heels (similar here), Stella & Dot Clutch (similar here), Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in 'Lolita'

Even though it's fall, I'm so happy the weather has been nice enough to still wear open toe shoes! A few weeks ago, my SIL and I were shopping at Target and she spotted this pair of grey heels with the cutest fringed detail!

I didn't have anything 'fun' like this pair in my shoe collection so I quickly got them! The very BEST part about these shoes? They're originally $33 but were on clearance for $9.98 =D

Before the Husband and I headed out for a lunch date, we decided to do a quick photo op! I'm so grateful he likes helping me do these kind of things <3

I've mentioned in a recent Instagram post about how I'm a few days into my third trimester and I've been nesting to settle my anxiety. I'm still in the process of nesting - it's been quite fun actually and my last project is the baby's room which I'm looking forward to working on!

Holiday Gift Guide & Review: MAC Holiday 2016*

The holidays are coming up (can you believe it?!) and I am so excited to share with y'all some of the special items curated for MAC's holiday collection this year! The theme for this holiday collection is so bright and whimsical leading to the creation of MAC Nutcracker Sweet.

From individual products (blushes, lipsticks, eye pencils, and pigments)  to special sets, MAC created something special to suit everyone's wants (even though we know you want it all)!

MAC Kohl Power Eye Pencil - Feline Black ($16.50 U.S.D.)*

*Pouch not included!
I really love MAC's Eye Kohls - they're silky and rich in color. I can easily create a smokey eye with just this pencil alone!

Nutcracker Sweet VIVA GLAMorous Set ($32.00 U.S.D.)

Gift someone special with something that gifts back! Every cent of the selling price of VIVA GLAM products goes toward helping women, men and children living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.

The Nutcracker Sweet VIVA GLAM set is a lip kit featuring the VIVA GLAM Ariana Grande plum Lipstick and glitter-flecked Lipglass.

Swatches (left to right):

Matte Lipstick - VIVA GLAM ARIANA I (deep dark plum
Lipglass - VIVA GLAM ARIANA I (light shimmer pink)

I really love the Matte Lipstick by Ariana Grande! This dark plum color is perfect in achieving a vampy lip look! The Lipglass makes a really nice lip topper over any lipstick color giving the illusion of a fuller pout. You can also wear this Lipglass by itself if wanted.

The clutch itself is really cute! I like the pattern very much! Besides compact cosmetics, you can fit your ID, credit cards, business cards in it and it fits in your purse perfectly!

Nutcracker Sweet Red Lip Bag ($39.50 U.S.D.)

I love wearing a red lip around Christmas holiday! This Nutcracker Sweet Red Lip Bag is a coordinated kit of candy cane red shades for lips in a stylish little clutch.

Swatches (left to right):

Matte Lipstick - Candy Cane
Pro Longwear Lip Pencil - Trust in Red
Vamplify - Suggestive

The red lip products in this kit all have a blue undertone which I feel complements my skin color nicely. The Candy Cane Matte Lipstick has a slight sheen to it and it's not completely drying like other matte lipsticks. Trust in Red Lip Pencil has amazing staying power! It took me two baby wipes and one makeup removing wipe to get the pencil swatch off my arm! Vamplify is a pigment loaded moisturizing lipgloss. It took me a few (2-3) layers to achieve an even application with the shade Seductive, but the end result is really pretty!

Nutcracker Sweet Red Lip Bag is the perfect kit to achieve your holiday red lip!

For a limited time, MAC Holiday collection is available for purchase online now and will be available in stores on October 27, 2016 through December 8, 2016.

If you're starting to Christmas shop and have a makeup fanatic in your family, I highly recommend you get them something from the MAC Holiday collection!

Maternity Style: Blushin' in Fall

I absolutely adore blush tone clothing and am so happy that it's finally cool enough to wear this pretty coat I snagged from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale earlier this summer!

I'm having a lot of fun doing these fun little photo shoots to share what I've been wearing during my pregnancy :) I'll be 7 months pregnant tomorrow! Some days it feels like my pregnancy is flying by and then other days it's the opposite. My family and I can't wait for our little girl to get here <3

Re-Review: Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation + [NEW] Cover Stick*

It felt like Christmas morning when I got an email from Influenster informing me that I'll be a part of their MUFE #UltraHDGeneration campaign! I couldn't help but wonder if the beauty gods had heard my fuss about how I was running low on my holy grail foundation because Influenster came to the rescue just in time!

If you have been reading my blog for some time now, you'll know that I've already done an in-depth review on the MUFE Ultra HD Foundation which you can find here. Today I'll give a quick run-down on the Ultra HD Foundation and share my full thoughts on their Ultra HD Cover Stick Foundation.

MUFE Ultra HD Foundation [Shade #123 = Y365]

What I love most about this foundation is how comfortable the wear is! Unlike other foundations, this one feels more natural on my face while giving me the coverage I need.

MUFE Ultra HD Foundation ($43.00 U.S.D.) provides medium coverage and it is build-able to suit your desired coverage. The shade I use is perfect for my warm tone. At the end of the day (8+ hours), I still love how flawless my complexion looks! There's a nice range of 40 shades that you can choose from.

For skin reference, I'm sensitive-combination.

Foundation (Shades) I Wear:
  • MAC Pro Longwear - NC20/NC25
  • Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk - 5.75
  • CoverGirl (3-in-1) - #845 Warm Beige

MUFE Ultra HD Foundation Cover Stick [Shade #123 = Y365]

I don't usually use cover sticks because I find the product consistency not creamy enough to work with resulting in difficulty to blend (maybe that's just me!).

I really like the convenience of a cover stick because the foundation is in a twist-up packaging. You can throw this in your purse and bring out to use for touch-ups and blend with your fingertip (if needed). I think the formula of the cover sticks are perfect, the texture and consistency is creamy making the product easy to work with! Application is a breeze, just a few swipes around your face and blend away with a wet makeup sponge or flat top brush.

The longevity and wear of this cover stick is similar to its liquid counterpart. I can wear the cover stick for 8+ hours comfortably until it is time to take off my makeup.

One downfall is the shade availability is slim compare to the Ultra HD Foundation. There are 15 shades of the Cover Sticks to choose from.

Once MUFE entered my life, it never left! If you're in the market for a medium-coverage, lightweight foundation, I highly recommend you giving the Ultra HD formula a try!
